M. Benjamin Adams

Coach Ben Adams serves as the head men’s and women’s tennis coach at the University of Pikeville. Previously, he lived in Virginia and was a tennis professional at Kingsmill Resort, staff instructor at the Nike Tennis Camps at the College of William & Mary, volunteer assistant coach and recruiter for the men’s and women’s tennis teams at Randolph-Macon College, assistant athletic director at Saint Mary Star of the Sea School, and head girls’ varsity tennis coach at Menchville High School.

Ben is a native of Kentucky and grew up learning the game from an endearing private coach and his older siblings. With a handful of offers to play college tennis, he opted not to play but chose to pursue his undergraduate degree from the University of Louisville. He earned a master’s degree in sport administration from Western Kentucky University and is currently pursuing a doctorate in leadership from Trevecca Nazarene University.

Says Ben, "When I first became aware of Oscar Wegner's Modern Tennis Methodology, I found that I was already utilizing parts of his method. Oscar's teachings have been very helpful in reassessing my game and I have no doubt this method will help my students and players. I believe one of the most important messages of MTM is that tennis can be naturally easy and fun -- not stringent, difficult or boring."
