Jimmy Gleason

In 2004, Jimmy Gleason relocated to Irvine, California from Kalamazoo, Michigan, where he has been coaching beginners to tournament players to dramatically raise the level of their game. He is a USPTA P1 and is also certified as a Professional in Modern Tennis Methodology (MTM). He has been teaching tennis for twenty years and has always searching for the best techniques to help anyone of any level play better tennis.

Jimmy has established a foundation to excel at any level.

He was a standout as a Division 1 collegiate player at Western Michigan University and later played on the professional tour. He has taught at every level up to and including a boy’s and girl’s high school tennis and was an assistant at Western Michigan University his Alma Mater. Jimmy developed Gleason Tennis Academy where he and his staff trained over 200 players. He believes that tennis is a vehicle for something far greater, where players can develop their games as well as their character while competing in the great sport of tennis.

He has personally worked extensively with coaches such as Pete Fischer (Sampras’ former coach), Bill Adams (Andres Gomez’ coach), and with world renowned tennis coach Oscar Wegner. As a new tennis coach for the City of Irvine, he is determined to help players of any age or level become the best team they can be. Jimmy is currently teaching at Deerfield Community Park.
