Matthew Miller

Matt has been playing tennis since he was 6 years old. Growing up in Irvine, CA Matt was coached by his father and competed in a few tournaments growing up. In high school Matt played 4 years, including 2 years varsity doubles.

Matt discovered Oscar Wegner's Modern Tennis Methodology through MTM Certified coach Jimmy Gleason, who introduced him to Oscar at a clinic in Newport Beach. In 2010 Matt began training frequently with and observing Oscar work with other players and coaches. As he prepared to enter college Matt kept in close contact with Oscar and studied his methodology assiduously, and with the help of Oscar's personal coaching he earned a tennis scholarship to Hope University where he played in 2011-12. Matt also plays USTA 5.0 for the Racquet Club Of Irvine.

Matt's tennis activities include racket stringing, coaching area tennis camps and acting as a hitting partner to local and visiting high performance and professional players.

According to Matt MTM is "life-changing". Of his experience working extensively on court with Oscar, both as a student and as a hitting partner/coaching assistant Matt says, "my game has improved a lot and I am having fun every day. I feel like I play consistently well every day thanks to Oscar's personal coaching and acknowledgement, both on and off the court. He is the most interesting man in the world!"

Matt is featured in Oscar's tennis instructional series "Tennis Into The Future - Volume 3 - Coaching Modern Strokes".
