Tyler Davis

USPTA and MTM Tennis Professional Tyler Davis trained during his high school years at Van der Meer Tennis Academy on Hilton Head. He played 4 years of scholarship tennis at Division II Limestone College. After college Tyler was a teaching pro in Atlanta, GA where he coached several ALTA and USTA teams including two ALTA City Champs.

Wanting to get back to his home state, Tyler returned to SC as Head Pro at Spartanburg Country Club where he helped grow the junior program to be one of the largest in the state. Striving for more, Tyler moved on become Head Coach for Limestone College’s Men’s and Women’s Tennis Teams where he garnered Conference Coach of the year in only his second year. During his tenure, Limestone was the only college in the Carolina Virginias Athletic Conference to have both the men’s and women’s teams nationally ranked. Tyler moved on to Presbyterian College to guide the Women’s program into the first two years of their Division 1 transition where he gained his 100th win in only his fourth year of collegiate coaching.

Tyler moved his family to Mt Pleasant in February of 2010. He has since been with Mount Pleasant Recreation as the Tennis Coordinator on Whipple road. During his time at the Mount Pleasant Tennis Center, he designed and implemented the town’s largest 10 and Under (Quickstart) program, ran five annual USTA Junior/Adult Tournaments, hosted two men’s professional prize money tournaments and oversaw the resurfacing project of fifteen courts. Most recently he directed the Park West Indoor 10 and Under camp for over 100 children.
